Boiling Springs High School Library

Mrs. Karen L. Cochran, Librarian

klc@smsd.us

The library is open every day from 7:25 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.  Students  wishing to work in the library during resource periods should sign up in the library in the morning before classes begin.  Students should then report directly to the library at the beginning of the resource period.  Students may come to the library from classes with a signed hall pass.

Access PA / Power Library:
The POWER library allows students, faculty, staff and administration access to thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, plus photographs, pictures, charts, maps and reference materials.  Patrons will find materials of interest in most subject areas for all age groups from young children to adults.

Instruction:
Classes that use the library and computer labs are arranged with the cooperation of the faculty and librarian.

Circulation Procedures:
Most materials may be borrowed for a two week period with renewals unless the materials are requested by another patron.

Reference materials, magazines,  and reserve materials may be borrowed for overnight use.  These materials must be returned the next school day.

Computer Network:
The library has computers and printers available for student and faculty use.

Fines:
Fines for overdue two week materials are five cents per day that school is in session.  Students with overdue overnight materials will be charged forty cents per day until the material has been returned. Students not returning library materials or paying fines at the end of a marking period will not receive report cards until library materials are returned and fines are paid.
