Curriculum Map: Physical Education Second Grade


This course is intended to have students develop the knowledge and skills needed for movement that offers the foundation for enjoyment and social development through physical activity. The second grade physical education course is intended to review previously learned skills and incorporate them into lifetime sports and other activities to promote lifelong physical fitness.

Recognize the importance of stretching before engaging in physical activity.
Apply physical fitness strategies, techniques and concepts to create an improve level of fitness.
Participate in a variety of physical activities at a level that increases heart and breathing rates.
Use various fundamental motor movements.
