Buddy WalkOn Saturday, September 16, the Central PA Down Syndrome Awareness Group celebrated its 10th anniversary Buddy Walk. Among many activities, the atmosphere was full of energy and excitement. With a DJ playing music, instructors from Ethos Fitness warming up everyone, and a silent auction taking place, the Cumberland Valley Cheerleaders cheered everyone onto the start.

Initially begun by three families, each with one son, and a shared purpose, the "Central PA Down Syndrome Awareness Group is committed to the success of individuals with Down syndrome. By promoting acceptance and awareness in our community we can empower individuals with Down syndrome to meet and exceed their dreams."

Walkers of all ages and abilities joined together on Saturday to promote awareness and inclusion as well as raise "funds for programs, services or equipment that aid in the forward progress of individuals with Down syndrome." SMSD students with down syndrome and those pursing higher education degrees in special education have been directly impacted by grants or scholarships provided by CPADSAG.
